Kevin B. Williams, Sr., was born to Robert E. Williams and Edith A. Williams. From the time of his birth, greatness had been spoken over his life. He was brought up in a God loving family. He was raised in church, under the pastorate of the late Rev. Dr. George N. Kenner, Second Baptist Church, Frankford. This was his foundation, from infancy to adulthood; the place where he cast his lot and continued to work and fellowship for nearly 50 years.
Kevin was a very active and dedicated member of Second. At an early age he sang on the Children's Choir, the Young Adult Choir and attended Sunday school regularly. He completed his education in the Philadelphia school system and furthered his education at Waynesburg College, where he received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Sociology, his minor was Psychology. While at Waynesburg, Kevin formed and directed the first and only gospel choir. Kevin was always in contact with his church and his pastor.
Upon graduating and returning home he immediately got actively involved in his church. Pastor Kenner asked him to direct the children and young adult choirs. He later became the choir director for all the choirs at Second. He was one of the original members and the first director of the Males chorus of Second Baptist church. Under Pastor Kenner's mentorship he served on the Trustee board, before being chosen as a walking deacon. He became an ordained Deacon in October 1993. He served as Chairman and secretary of the board. His work continued as he served as Sunday school teacher and vacation bible school teacher. He was later selected as the director of the vacation bible school. He served in that capacity for several years. He was later appointed as Superintendent of Sunday school by Pastor Kenner, as well as the Youth leader, an office in which he served for the next ten years
He had a hunger for the word of God and a unquenchable thirst for the understanding of it's principle and teachings. He entered into the Philadelphia College of Bible, where he was certified in Old and New Testament Studies. He is also a graduate student in the Biblical Studies Program. Jeremiah 29:11 tells us that God has a plan for each of our lives. He was setting Kevin up for the next phase of his ministry.
Kevin answered the call to preach the gospel. He preached his initial sermon and received his license in November 2003. In September 2004, Reverend Kevin B. Williams, Sr. was ordained a minister of the gospel. God continued to prepare him for what was yet to be manifested, he was asked to instruct the mid-week bible study and did so until he was called to another assignment. God's call on Reverend William's life continued. In July of 2009, after much prayer, supplication and fasting, he heard the call to feed my sheep, he heard the call to shepherd God children. New Beginnings Community Baptist Church was birthed.
On December 6, 2009, Reverend Kevin B. William, Sr. preached his first sermon as pastor, of the New Beginnings Community Baptist Church.
His favorite scripture is Proverbs 3:5-6
Trust in the Lord with all thine heart and lean not unto your ownunderstanding in all thy ways acknowledge Him", and He shall direct thy path."
